Planning a Uganda safari with children
Uganda can be a wonderful family destination when the itinerary is shaped around children rather than squeezed around them.
Age limits
Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking have minimum age requirements set by the Uganda Wildlife Authority. We confirm the current rules when planning, and suggest alternatives for younger children while older family members trek.
Activities children enjoy
Game drives, boat trips on the Kazinga Channel or the Nile, rhino tracking at Ziwa, cultural activities such as cooking or coffee experiences, and gentle nature walks all work well for curious young travellers.
Pacing the trip
Distances between parks can be long. With children, fewer destinations and more nights in each place usually make for a happier journey. Tell us your children's ages and interests, and we will plan accordingly.
